Okay, I've seen like 50 people coming up with these "Top 10" music lists. AAAAAND, since i'm bored and all, I figured i'd give in and make one of my own.
Hmm,
1. io (This Time Around)- Helen Stellar
Beautiful song! Anytime I need something chill and beautiful, I always put it on
2. Electric Feel - MGMT
Probably my favorite "fun" song, it always makes me want to dance! Woop.
3. Graveyard Girl- M83
The weirdest band i have ever heard, and i am completely obsessed! Their music is beautifully odd, and I can never get enough.
4. Drunk And Fucked Up - Ryan Adams
It's really hard to pick a favorite of his, but this is my favorite of the moment.
My dad and his fiancee went to see him a few months ago, and I still make them feel bad for not getting me tickets. aha.
5. How Come/Trouble/Jolene - Ray LaMontagne
I absolutely just CAN'T pick one here, it's Ray. One day I am going to see him play live, and i'm sure it'll change my life for the better.
6. Wasted And Ready- Ben Kweller
Although it came out in '02, it gives me that "back in the '90s" feel that I always love.
I wish we had more music with that feel these days.
7. New Song- Sublime
Thank you, dad, for raising me on Sublime. "Payback's a motherfckin bitch" is just...yeah.
8. Sea of Love - Tom Waits/ Cat Power's remake version
I told everyone in my family that I wanted Cat Power's remake version for my wedding, and I still keep that promise. I don't care if I get married when i'm 97, it is still on.
9. Pumpkin Soup - Kate Nash
Another feel good song, all her songs are wonderful. This one on particular.
10. 1979 - Smashing Pumpkins
Another song I feel that i grew up listening to. Billy Corgan's voice is love for me.
So, there we go! Let me know what ya think, and share some of your faves with me :]

I saw Ray LaMontagne play in Boston this past October and the guy knows how to groove. His voice is the real deal, and he comes out in a flannel shirt and construction boots and just jams out. Only thing that sucks is that he's so introverted that he doesn't really interact with the audience. I dig your top ten playlist and will now follow your blog because of your excellent musical selection. HA.
Hey Megs! Definately some gems listed here. I really love Ray and Sublime. I know, I know ... the only "mainstream" ones ... I really need to broaden my musical horizons!
A couple of my faves are:
1. Blue Light by Mazzy Star (her voice transcends all others ... beautifully pure)
2. Why Don't You Do Right by Sinead O'Connor (her do-whatever-I-want attitude really comes through in this song, yet it's not a fast-paced song as I expected)
3. anything from Drugstore (seriously, if you haven't heard of them, you should check them out sometime ~ I think you would like it)
4. Lifesize by A Fine Frenzy (what can I say ... I love chick music)
5. Wouldn't Mama Be Proud? by Jeff Trott (his voice is amazing ~ makes my heart ache ... in a good way)
6. Cool Kids by Screeching Weasel (if I'm ever sad or mad or upset about anything, this song cheers me up everytime ~ never fails! I hope it will do the same for you too!)
7. I can't pick a favorite from these artists ... everything is GREAT ... NoFx, CKY and the ole classic Nirvana.
Ok, I guess I'm done now. There are just so many more that I would like to share with you ... maybe I'll have to give in and do my Top 10 as well.
Have a beautiful day Megs!
Smiles,
Angie
Blogger hates me. I tried commenting on this like 3 times yesterday. Anyway-
I suck, I only know 2, 5 and 8
Thanks for the idea though, I'm gonna do the same since I'm also bored, haha. <3
I love Ray LaMontagne. He has an AMAZING voice. It's so hard to pick a favorite song of his. They are all so amazing. I like pretty much ALL music.
I'm a huge Damien Rice fan. He's really great. I love listening to Damien Rice and Ray LaMontagne since To Love Somebody together. They are a force to be reckoned with when they sing together.
You seem to have really good taste in music. I will probably put a list up myself now. LOL.

So funny , I found your blog at random on southern gothic production, and I must say it's a great discovery . Just like if I read myself 6 years ago . It's kinda weird. Anyway I like your playlist pretty much , even if I only knew 2 songs . :/
Some of my faves are:
--David kitt : songs from hope street, or you know what I want to know,(his remake of when doves cry is awesome!)
--Snow patrol (chasing cars) I feel I'm somewhere else everytime I listen to this song.
--Emilie Simon (chanson de toile)Her voice sounds magic.
--Dying in the sun (from the cranberries)
--Magnificent (from U2).
