I realized...

... how much fun weddings can be!  I road-tripped back to good ol' East Texas last weekend, helping setup for my dad's wedding and to see that huge group of people I call my family. And oh was it adventurous! As my brother and I made the journey from Tyler to Winsboro, passing by country courthouse protestors and police cars full of officers rockin' those cowboy hats, we knew we were deep in the heart of some good country fun! After a few hours of putting in some hard work, we headed out to "The Saloon", the only alcohol worthy, country two steppin' country bar in the dry town. But damn me for having one more year to legally drink. So I sipped on those sugar-full Dr. Peppers while I designated the rest of the table's alcohol fun times.

After  a little more hard work, some interesting Tex-Mex food, and some dancing fun at the bed and breakfast, we finally made it to the wedding day. Thank God for my fun liberal family, I love that when asked to say "I Do" my dad and his new wife busted out with "Fo Sho's" and "Hellllls yeah!" for their answers. Now that is just some awesomeness in itself. Anyways, we enjoyed some "cake balls" and after a few attempts with my new step sister to push my younger brother in the pool, it was a good weekend!

2 more weeks of this hell-hole university, studying, work, and living with my stripper roommate left, and I get to spend the summer applying to art schools and hanging out with old friends, family, and our Hawaii trip in August, yay!

Once, I wanted to be the greatest....

"Rich people can be eccentric. The rest of us can be weird."
- Frank Zuppo

Another one of my favorite quotes ever. I discovered my old xanga site (anyone else remember xanga, before the myspaces and facebooks of the world appeared!) and found an entry from 2004 with this quote. Brought me back a little!

Weird is fun, and we all need fun in our lives, right?!

I'm working on applying to art schools in the next few weeks, wish me luck!

Now go out and do something weird. And have fun! Life is too short to be boring.

can't stop moving...

I was reminded today of how much I love this song/video

Thank you Limited Too/Justice, for at least playing one partially decent song in the year that i've worked there.
Call me corny, but i think it's so inspiring in a cute way. Always puts me in a good mood!

I hope everyone is having/had a wonderful Easter holiday!

I shall never grow up,

make believe is much too fun <33

There is a homeless man. This man got a job wearing a Liberty Statue costume for the Liberty Tax company by interstate. I drove by today and tried to take video of him dancing, but my light was green :[

He spends all day dancing and trying to get the 18 wheelers to honk, and if they don't he flips them off.

It is so my goal to capture his awesome-ness on video. He entertains me so much!

I am officially a creeeeeep! Haha. I love random people, they make me believe in the beauty of life sometimes.

On another note, my goal for the week is to start appyling for art schools, UNT isn't working out for me. Any good suggestions?

Megan is my name, fashion merchandising in my game. <33

Lakes...

Oh Lake Dallas, you entertain me

So, as my friend Laura and I were pondering our college boredom, sitting by the phone waiting to see if my work needed my on call today, we decided to adventure out to Lake Dallas, having neither of us been before. And, well, it sure was quite interesting!

Best thing of the day? The lake sits right behind an RV park. No lie.

As we layed out, glancing at the waves before us, we couldn't help but notice two men in their pickup trucks sitting, glancing our way. Trying to ignore the creepiness, we frollicked across the "beach" part, drawing in the sand beautiful things such as our names, birds, fake penises...oh you know, just the usual! After about 30 minutes the creepy rednecks finally revved  up their fancy Texas trucks and proceeded to find some other girls to creep on, we only guess. Feeling a little more adventurous, we walked to the other side of the lake, where the marina sat with boats docked, and noticed two couples sitting out by the lake. In track suits, hoodies, and long sleeves everything. We were in bikinis.

Oh Texas, my Texas, you provide me with trailer parks, lakes, and playgrounds all in one area.
How may I ever repay you?

The little 12 year old came out of my 20 year old body last night.

My friend Chelsea asked me to go see Britney Spears with her, and...wow....AMAZING show!
Now, don't get me wrong, the girl isn't known for her live singing ability. But once you put some lip syncing together with some kickass choreography, light show, and circus freaks.

That is some DAMN good entertainment.

The Pussycat Dolls was her opening act, and I was very surprised at their ability to sing and dance at the same time. Nicole ( i think that's her last name...googling right now) hit every perfect pitch while busting out her little pussycat doll moves. I grew to actually appreciate their talent a little more than I had before.

All in all, it was a very nice change of pace from my usual laid back scene. Sometimes you just need to shake your ass and see a good show.

I included a little video, not the best quality but the choreography was killer.

I hope you're all having a good week!
